2021 / Short Film

Director, Cinematographer, Editor

After gifting a coffee machine to their father on Christmas, this picture-perfect family is thrown into the jaws of a horror-come-anti-drug flick as their dad’s addiction tears the family apart.

Director Jess Nipperess

Writer Sam Paine

Composer Kyls Burtland

I created this project when I was 15 years old using a $5000 Orana Arts grant. During it's festival run, this film reached across the world; from WorldFest Huston (winning Best High School Production at Worldfest-Houston (2022)) to FlickerUP (2022) to American Pavilion’s Emerging Filmmaker Showcase at the Cannes Film Festival (2022).

I attended the Cannes Film Festival for Devil Bean's screening in 2022 at the age of 16, which spurred a whirlwind of media interviews, including with NoFilmSchool, Heavy Cinema and the Australian Cinematographer's Magazine.
