hi there! my name is Jess

I'm a young, queer artist hailing from a country town in rural New South Wales with an undying love for trinkets, audiobooks and well-brewed green tea.

At 15, I directed a short horror-comedy 'Devil Bean' that screened in the American Pavilion at the Cannes Film Festival, spurring interviews with the Nofilmschool podcast and Australian Cinematographer Magazine.

Over the course of my high school education, I created 8+ short films screened in over 19 film festivals including FlickerUP, TropJr, Worldfest-Houston, Austin Film Festival, Cine Youth and ACMI ScreenIt.

Currently based in Sydney, I work primarily as a director, cinematographer or in art dpt. Beyond film, I create within the performance, photography and theatre spaces, and am always keen to explore new disciplines.

I'm currently studying a Bach. of Visual Arts at Sydney College of the Arts, in conjunction an Anthropology major and language electives at the University of Sydney.
